Railway Minister: 12,300 Coaches, 460 Locomotives Now Equipped with CCTV Cameras

• Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that approximately 12,300 coaches and 460 locomotives are equipped with CCTV cameras.
• This includes all operational Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains.
• The initiative aims to enhance passenger safety and security, deterring miscreant activities, vandalism, and thefts.
• CCTV cameras will also assist in the investigation of incidents.
• Zonal Railways and Production Units have begun procuring and installing these cameras.
