RBI Injects Rs 65,322 Cr into Banking System via 6-Day Repo Auction

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) injected Rs 65,322 crore into the banking system through a six-day variable rate repo (VRR) auction.
•
The funds were injected at a cut-off rate of 5.26 per cent and a weighted average rate of 5.29 per cent.
•
The injected liquidity was lower than the notified amount of Rs 75,000 crore.
•
This injection occurred despite a sharp drop in surplus liquidity due to advance tax payments and GST outflows.
•
The banking system's liquidity surplus was estimated at Rs 48,698.38 crore as of March 26.
