Rs 2.38 Cr Fake Notes Seized in Ahmedabad, 7 Arrested Including Yoga Teacher

Ahmedabad police seized high-quality counterfeit Indian currency worth Rs 2.38 crore and apprehended seven individuals.

The accused, including a Surat-based spiritual and yoga teacher, were caught with 42,000 fake Rs 500 notes in an SUV.
•
Further investigation led to the seizure of an additional Rs 28 lakh in fake currency and printing equipment from a house in Surat.
•
Mukesh Thummar, the alleged kingpin, arranged equipment and raw materials, with counterfeit currency being printed for four months.
•
The racket used security thread paper from Chinese sources and AI-based platforms like ChatGPT for design refinement.
