Security Forces Defuse High-Intensity IED in Jharkhand's Saranda Forests
•Security personnel defused a high-intensity IED in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, on Thursday.
•The IED was found during an anti-Naxalite search operation on Wednesday in Saranda forests near Edalbera-Babudera road, Jaraikela police station limits.
•West Singhbhum SP Amit Renu stated the bomb disposal squad defused it on the spot, suspecting Maoists planted it months ago.
•Only one Maoist group, led by Misir Besra, is currently active in the area.
•Two security personnel were injured in an IED blast in Saranda forests on Sunday, and 17 Maoists, including Patiram Manjhi (Rs 1 crore bounty), were eliminated in January.
