Tarique Rahman to be sworn in as Bangladesh's new PM on Tuesday
- •Tarique Rahman will take oath as Bangladesh's new Prime Minister on Tuesday after a forceful victory in general elections.
- •The swearing-in ceremony for the 60-year-old Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairman will be held at the South Plaza of the Parliament Complex.
- •BNP secured 209 out of 297 seats, while Jamaat-e-Islami won 68 seats in the 13th parliamentary election.
- •Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and Secretary-General of Lok Sabha Utpal Kumar Singh will represent India.
- •Rahman will replace interim government chief Muhammad Yunus; four minority candidates from BNP also won seats.
