Tata Steel's Rs 3,200-crore Ludhiana plant to begin operations in March: CM
•
Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann announced Tata Steel's new Ludhiana plant will start operations in March.
•
The Rs 3,200-crore project near HiTech Valley includes a 0.75 MTPA Electric Arc Furnace-based steelmaking facility and a rebar mill.
•
The plant, spread over 115 acres, is expected to create employment for around 2,500 people.
•
It will use 100% steel scrap as raw material and Electric Arc Furnace technology for environmentally friendly production, reducing carbon emissions.
•
This facility will be Tata Steel’s second-largest plant in India after Jamshedpur and its biggest investment in Punjab.
