Telangana Cracks Down: 3,700 Illegal LPG Cylinders Seized, 216 FIRs Filed

• Telangana Civil Supplies Department seized approximately 3,700 illegally stocked domestic LPG cylinders since March 12.
• The crackdown also resulted in the seizure of 70 small cylinders, with the total value of seized items estimated at Rs 1.10 crore.
• A total of 216 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered in connection with these seizures.
• Civil Supplies Commissioner M Stephen Raveendra had previously warned of stringent action against LPG cylinder hoarding and black-marketing.
• The government is taking strict action against cooking gas theft, unauthorized storage, and illegal resale, especially amid energy supply disruptions from West Asia.
