Telangana Speaker Dismisses Disqualification Plea Against BRS MLA M Sanjay Kumar

• Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar dismissed the disqualification petition against BRS Jagtial MLA M Sanjay Kumar.
• BRS filed petitions in 2024 against Sanjay Kumar and nine other MLAs, alleging defection to the ruling Congress after the 2023 Assembly polls.
• This is the eighth such dismissal by the Speaker, with petitions against two other MLAs, Danam Nagender and Kadiam Srihari, still pending.
• Sanjay Kumar denied joining Congress, stating his meeting with CM A Revanth Reddy was for "development purposes" and he remains a BRS MLA.
• He claimed Rs 5,000 is deducted from his salary as a contribution to the BRS legislative wing and highlighted BRS's past induction of MLAs from other parties.
