Tigress Dies in Bandhavgarh Reserve, Illness Suspected Cause

• A five-year-old tigress died in Madhya Pradesh's Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR) on Wednesday.
• Officials cited illness, specifically affecting the liver and spleen, as the preliminary cause of death, with internal bleeding also observed.
• The tigress was found ill on March 15 near Banwei Nala and was treated in the Baheraha enclosure under continuous monitoring.
• All vital organs were intact, and samples were collected for laboratory testing; NTCA and senior officials were informed.
• This death marks the eighth tiger fatality in BTR in the past two-and-a-half months, with four previously due to electrocution.
