Tripura CM announces 5% DA hike for govt employees, total now 41%

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha declared a 5% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees.
•
The hike increases the total DA to 41% and will be applicable from April 1 for employees and pensioners.
•
A total of 1,02,563 regular employees and 81,019 pensioners will benefit from this decision.
•
The state government will incur an additional annual expenditure of Rs 500 crore to implement the hike.
•
Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman criticized the CM for announcing the DA hike after the Finance Minister's budget speech.
