Unclaimed Funds Soar to Rs 60,518 Cr in RBI's DEA Fund: MoS Finance

Public sector banks transferred Rs 60,518 crore in unclaimed amounts to RBI's Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund by January 2026.

Unclaimed insurance amounts reached Rs 8,973.89 crore by February-end, and mutual funds held Rs 3,749.34 crore in unclaimed funds.

Financial regulators are implementing measures to identify rightful claimants and simplify the claim process for these assets.

Sovereign Green Bonds (SGrBs) show strong investor interest with a bid-cover ratio above 2 since FY 2022-23, reaching 2.32 in FY 2025-26.

SGrBs offered a 'greenium' of 7 basis points in the latest auction, indicating their attractiveness to investors, but no tax incentives are planned.
