Water Contamination Crisis: Hundreds Ill, Deaths Reported Across Three States

•Union Minister Tokhan Sahu informed Rajya Sabha about water contamination incidents in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh.
•Indore, MP reported 22 deaths and 459 hospitalizations due to acute diarrhoeal disease in Bhagirathpura.
•Srikakulam, AP saw 2 deaths and 224 hospitalizations from gastroenteritis and diarrhoea in early 2026.
•Gujarat reported a typhoid outbreak in Gandhinagar affecting 258, and 506 hospitalized in Balasinor due to pipeline issues since October 2025.
•Minor incidents in Greater Noida (UP) and Gurugram (Haryana) were rectified, involving leakages and unclean tanks.
