Expressway Toll Hikes: Delhi-Meerut Toll Up 5% From April 1, FASTag Mandatory
•NHAI proposes a 5% average increase in expressway toll rates, effective midnight April 1.
•Cash payments for tolls are abolished; only FASTag or UPI payments are accepted.
•Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) toll for light vehicles from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut increases from Rs 170 to Rs 175 (one-way) and Rs 255 to Rs 265 (return).
•A Closed Tolling System is implemented, charging commuters based on distance traveled via FASTag readers at exits.
•The DME/NH9 handles 3,98,000 PCU daily, with 50,000 PCU exclusively on DME; speed limits are 100 kmph in UP and 70 kmph in Delhi.
