India Auto Registrations Soar 27% in March, Set for Strongest Showing Since 2022

•India's automobile industry is on track for its strongest March performance since 2022, driven by rural demand and record SUV/electric two-wheeler sales.
•Total vehicle registrations reached 1.254 million units from March 1-17, a 27% increase year-on-year.
•Tata Motors surpassed Mahindra & Mahindra to become India's second-largest automaker in the passenger vehicle segment, with a 13.67% market share.
•Ather Energy overtook Ola Electric as the top-selling electric two-wheeler brand this quarter, with volumes up 60% year-on-year.
•Commercial vehicle registrations increased by 24%, and rural retail sales surged 34%, indicating a broad economic recovery.
