Harley-Davidson Bikes to Get Cheaper in India with Zero-Duty Access

• Harley-Davidson is set to benefit significantly from India's agreement to grant zero-duty access to American motorcycle manufacturers under the proposed India–US interim trade agreement.
• The exemption applies to motorcycles with engine capacities of 800–1,600 cc and above, effective from the pact's implementation, expected by mid-March.
• Combined taxes on high-end imported American vehicles, currently up to 110%, could drop to as low as 30%, making Harley-Davidson motorcycles more affordable.
• This move is crucial as US President Donald Trump has consistently pushed for lower tariffs to boost Harley-Davidson's sales in India, where it exited in 2020 due to weak sales.
• India is also expected to offer import duty concessions on US diesel vehicles (2,500 cc+) and petrol vehicles (3,000 cc+), potentially benefiting brands like Jeep.
