Harley-Davidson Bikes Enter India Duty-Free Under New US Trade Deal

• India agrees to eliminate import duties on Harley-Davidson motorcycles (800-1600cc) under an interim trade agreement with the US.
• Tariffs on high-end cars (above 3000cc) will be reduced from up to 110% to 30%, excluding electric vehicles and lower/mid-tier automobiles.
• The agreement is expected to take effect around March, with Harley-Davidson enjoying zero import duties from day one.
• In return, India will receive a preferential tariff-rate quota for automotive parts exports to the US, with some entering duty-free.
• Similar concessions have been offered to the EU and UK, gradually reducing import duties on European luxury vehicles.
