UK Economy Grows 0.1% in Q4 2025, Offers Relief to Starmer Amid Budget Uncertainty

UK GDP expanded by 0.1% in the three months to December 2025, following two prior contractions.
•
Industrial sector drove quarterly improvement with 1.2% growth, while services showed no growth and construction fell 2.1%.
•
Monthly GDP also rose 0.1% in December, supported by services activity.
•
Annual growth for 2025 reached 1.3%, an improvement from 1.0% in 2024, with services as the main engine.
•
Construction remains the weakest component, falling 2.1% in Q4 2025, its lowest since September 2021.
