Bengaluru Metro Fares to Rise by 5% from Feb 9: New Rates Announced

  • Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will implement its first annual fare revision, a 5% increase, starting February 9, 2026.
  • The revision follows guidelines from the First Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) and aims for financial sustainability through smaller, more frequent adjustments.
  • The Annual Automatic Fare Revision Formula links adjustments to operation/maintenance costs or a maximum 5% per annum, whichever is lower.
  • Commuters will see a marginal increase of Re 1 to Rs 5 across fare zones, with short-distance travel (F1) increasing to Rs 11 and longest journeys (F10) to Rs 95.
  • Existing digital payment incentives, including smart card and NCMC discounts (5% peak, 10% non-peak), will continue, and specialized ticketing options also see a 5% increase.
