Bangalore Metro Announces Annual Fare Revision from Feb 2026 to Ensure Sustainability

• Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will implement an Annual Automatic Fare Revision from February 9, 2026.
• The revision follows recommendations from the First Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) to avoid infrequent, steep fare hikes.
• Fares will increase annually by 5% or linked to O&M cost, whichever is lower, with marginal increases of Rs. 1 to Rs. 5 across 10 fare zones.
• BMRCL will continue existing commuter discounts for smart-card/NCMC users, including 5% during peak hours and 10% during non-peak hours, Sundays, and national holidays.
• This annual adjustment aims for financial sustainability and service reliability, balancing affordability with operational costs.
