Bengaluru Woman Murdered, Husband Immobile; Accused Arrested for Rs 8 Lakh Debt

• A 70-year-old woman, Shobha, was found murdered in her Bengaluru home with her throat slit; her mentally challenged husband, Ranganath, was lying beside her, unaware.
• The murder was discovered by a physiotherapist visiting Ranganath, who has suffered from a mental health condition for 15 years.
• Police arrested Shivakumar, a wholesale shop owner, who allegedly committed the crime to clear an Rs 8 lakh debt.
• Approximately 450 grams of gold jewellery, valued at Rs 65 lakh, were stolen from Shobha.
• CCTV footage helped police trace Shivakumar via his scooter; the murder weapon and stolen gold were recovered.
