Pune's Hadapsar Station Gets Satellite Status: Fourth Platform Approved

• Hadapsar Railway Station is being developed as a 'satellite terminal' to ease pressure on Pune Railway Station, with fresh approval from authorities.
• The Railway Board has officially cleared the construction of a fourth platform at Hadapsar station, which currently has three platforms and handles 4,000 daily passengers.
• The expansion will benefit residents of Manjri, Wagholi, Kharadi, and Magarpatta City, especially IT professionals, by providing quicker access to long-distance trains.
• The new platform is expected to allow for at least three to four additional trains daily and provide flexibility for new services or added stops.
• The estimated cost of the expansion project is approximately Rs 7 crore, with tendering to begin after technical assessments for a 400-metre or 650-metre platform are complete.
