Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Expressway Gets ₹14,886 Cr Funding; Travel Time Halved to 3 Hrs

• The long-pending Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Greenfield Expressway project has received ₹14,886 crore in budgetary funding.
• The 245.9 km, six-lane expressway will reduce travel time between Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from 6 hours to just 3 hours.
• The project will be completed in two phases; Phase 1 (Pune to Shirur) tender is done, with work starting next month.
• Funding is now available for Phase 2 (Shirur to Sambhajinagar), clearing the path for the entire project.
• The modern highway is expected to be operational in the next 5 years, boosting state transportation and industries.
