• The incident, which occurred on January 20, was attributed to relationship stress and financial disputes involving his girlfriend, Jayshree Raju Bankar (46).
• Kharat, a supervisor at a private automobile company in Waluj MIDC, had a long-standing romantic relationship with Bankar, causing domestic disputes and financial strain.
• His son, Akash Kharat (27), filed a complaint alleging that Bankar demanded money and blackmailed his father in the lodge room, leading to his suicide.
• Jayshree Bankar has been booked for abetment to suicide, and Police Inspector Dhananjay Pharate is investigating the case.
