India Hosts GlobE Anti-Corruption Meet, Pushes for Global Cooperation and Asset Recovery
•India hosted the 12th Steering Committee Meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE) from March 23-25 in New Delhi.
•The meeting brought together top enforcement officials from 15 member nations, including India's CBI and ED, to strengthen international cooperation against corruption and financial crimes.
•CBI Director emphasized that corruption is transnational and technology-driven, making global coordination and real-time information sharing essential.
•ED Director highlighted asset recovery as a key measure of enforcement success, noting the ED has restituted assets worth approximately $5.6 billion.
•India joined GlobE in 2022, was elected to its Steering Committee in 2024, and is positioning itself as a central node in the global fight against corruption.
