India Hosts GlobE Anti-Corruption Meet, Pushes for Global Cooperation and Asset Recovery

• India hosted the 12th Steering Committee Meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE) from March 23-25 in New Delhi.
• The meeting brought together top enforcement officials from 15 member nations, including India's CBI and ED, to strengthen international cooperation against corruption and financial crimes.
• CBI Director emphasized that corruption is transnational and technology-driven, making global coordination and real-time information sharing essential.
• ED Director highlighted asset recovery as a key measure of enforcement success, noting the ED has restituted assets worth approximately $5.6 billion.
• India joined GlobE in 2022, was elected to its Steering Committee in 2024, and is positioning itself as a central node in the global fight against corruption.
