CCPA Fines Vajirao & Reddy Institute ₹15 Lakh for Misleading UPSC Ads
•The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) imposed a ₹15 lakh penalty on Vajirao & Reddy Institute for misleading advertisements regarding UPSC CSE 2023 results.
•The Institute concealed crucial information, specifically the courses opted for by successful candidates, creating a false impression that they enrolled in regular, comprehensive programs.
•Claims like "Over 645 Selections Out of 1016 Vacancies" and "6 in Top 10 AIR" were made, while many successful candidates only attended Interview Guidance Programs.
•Discrepancies were found in enrolment forms, with 431 not specifying courses and many others indicating only interview guidance.
•This is a repeat offense; the Institute was previously fined ₹7 lakh for similar misleading ads in 2022, leading to a higher penalty due to recurring violations.
