Air India Crash: US Group Alleges 11-Year History of Electrical Defects in Plane
•A US aviation safety group, Foundation for Aviation Safety (FAS), claims the Air India Boeing 787-8 that crashed in Ahmedabad had an 11-year history of serious electrical defects.
•The aircraft, which crashed last year killing 241 people, reportedly had fire-damaged power panels, bus tie bar damage, core network faults, and electrical transients.
•FAS Executive Director Ed Pierson stated these weren't minor discrepancies and many events were severe enough to ground the plane.
•FAS shared these 'non-public' documents with NTSB and AAIB but claims to have received no response from either agency.
•FAS expressed doubts about the investigation's transparency, alleging a deliberate effort by Air India and Boeing to conceal information.
