Govt to Demolish Shastri, Krishi Bhawans for Rs 3,006-Crore Central Secretariat Buildings
- •The Centre plans to demolish Krishi Bhawan and Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi to construct Common Central Secretariat Buildings 4 and 5.
- •The project, estimated at over Rs 3,006 crore, involves demolishing 1.22 lakh square metres on Dr Rajendra Prasad Road.
- •The new Buildings 4 and 5 will be eight-storey PEB steel structures with a two-year construction deadline and five years of maintenance.
- •Ministries from Krishi Bhawan and Shastri Bhawan are relocating to the recently unveiled Common Secretariat Buildings 1, 2, and 3 (Kartavya Bhawans).
- •The relocation also facilitates the upcoming Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum at Raisina Hill, with PMO expected to move to Seva Teerth 1.
