Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Deadline Revised to June; Gujarat Stretch Delayed to FY2028

  • Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the revised deadline for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to June in Lok Sabha.
  • The Delhi-Vadodara section is expected by May, and Vadodara to Mumbai by June, except for three Gujarat packages.
  • Three packages in Gujarat, near Surat, are now targeted for completion in FY2027-28 due to various delays.
  • Delays in Gujarat packages are attributed to land acquisition, tree felling permissions, utility shifting, and concessionaire default.
  • For NH-66 Mumbai-Goa, 465 km of 485 km is four-lane complete; the remaining 20 km is targeted for June completion.
