5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Dhaka, Tremors Felt Across Kolkata

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck Agargaon district in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Friday, February 27.

Tremors from the quake were felt in Kolkata and adjacent districts in West Bengal.

The earthquake occurred around 1:22 pm, with its epicenter in Nayabazar, Bangladesh, approximately 100 km from Kolkata.
•
The tremors, lasting about 10 seconds, caused people to rush out of buildings as a precautionary measure.

No damage to property or aftershocks were immediately reported following the incident.
