India Unveils Ambitious 2035 Climate Targets: 60% Clean Energy, Reduced Emissions

•India commits to 60% non-fossil fuel-based electric power capacity by 2035, up from 52.57% achieved in February.
•Aims to reduce GDP emission intensity by 47% from 2005 levels by 2035, surpassing the previous 2030 target.
•New Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) approved by Union Cabinet, following earlier 2015 and 2022 commitments.
