Indian Railways Powers 2025 Growth: New Bridges, Vande Bharat, Freight Corridors Boost Connectivity

  • Indian Railways achieved landmark infrastructure projects in 2025, including the Pamban vertical-lift bridge and the world's highest rail bridge on the Chenab river, providing all-weather connectivity to Kashmir and Mizoram.
  • Expanded passenger services with 15 new Vande Bharat trains (total 164), 13 Amrit Bharat trains (total 30), and two Namo Bharat Rapid Rail services.

  • Boosted freight operations by commissioning Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors and achieving a record wagon production of 41,929 in 2024-25.
