Lower Tolls on Incomplete Expressways from Feb 15: Govt Removes 25% Premium
- •From February 15, users will pay reduced tolls on national expressways that are not open end-to-end.
- •The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways amended the National Highways Fee Rules, 2008, to lower charges on incomplete corridors.
- •The 25% premium previously charged for expressways will be removed for unfinished corridors; users will pay the national highway rate for operational stretches.
- •This aims to increase the use of open stretches, shift traffic from parallel national highways, and reduce congestion.
- •The reduced toll will be in effect for up to one year from February 15, 2026, or until the expressway is fully operational, whichever is earlier.
