Mumbai-Pune Expressway: Gas Tanker Overturns, Emergency Plan Activated, Traffic Jam Ensues

• The incident near Adoshi tunnel in Bor Ghat section on February 3 caused a massive traffic jam, suspending Mumbai-bound traffic.
• Quick Response Vehicles, ambulances, fire tenders, NDRF, and chemical experts were deployed to contain the highly inflammable propylene gas leak.
• Water and biscuits were distributed to stranded commuters, and toll-free entry/exit was allowed at nearby plazas to ease inconvenience.
• Traffic advisories were issued, and diversions were implemented, including using one Pune-bound lane for Mumbai-bound vehicles and diverting light vehicles via the old Khopoli highway.
