BJP Unveils First List of 144 Bengal Candidates; Suvendu Adhikari to Contest Bhabanipur

BJP released its initial list of 144 candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
•
Suvendu Adhikari has been nominated from Bhabanipur, a seat currently held by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
•
Other prominent candidates include Dilip Ghosh from Kharagpur Sadar and Swapan Dasgupta from Rashbehari.
•
The elections for 294 seats will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting on May 4.
•
Mamata Banerjee won Bhabanipur in a 2021 bypoll after losing to Suvendu Adhikari in Nandigram.
