Sitharaman Hails Rs 10 Fuel Duty Cut Amid West Asia Crisis

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman welcomed the government’s decision to cut central excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 per litre.
•
The move aims to protect consumers from rising prices amid the ongoing West Asia crisis.

The central excise duty on petrol is now Rs 3 per litre and zero on diesel.
•
Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also lauded the decision, thanking PM Modi and Sitharaman.
•
The government also imposed export duties on diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) to ensure domestic availability.
