•Center reduces excise duty on petrol by 10 rupees (from 13 to 3) and completely removes it on diesel (from 10 to 0).

•Government amends Central Excise Duty Rules, 2017, making provisions 18 and 19 inapplicable to petrol, HSD, and ATF.
•New SAED of 18.5 rupees per liter on exported HSD, while SAED on exported petrol is zero to encourage exports.
•Exemptions for exported fuel and fuel supplied to foreign airlines from Basic Excise Duty and AIDC; SAED on ATF increased but effectively reduced to 29.5 rupees per liter.
