Daughter's Property Rights: When Does a Father's Decision Override Them?

Daughters have equal rights to ancestral property as sons since the 2005 Hindu Succession Act amendment.
•
If a father dies without a will, both son and daughter receive an equal share of all property, self-acquired or ancestral.
•
A daughter's right to ancestral property does not cease even if it's registered only in the father's and son's names.
•
A father can will his self-acquired property solely to his son, in which case the daughter cannot claim it.
•
Ancestral property cannot be transferred via a will as all co-parceners have equal birthrights.
