Maharashtra Lifts Grazing Land Reservation: Revenue Bill Passed Unanimously

The Maharashtra Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Bill was unanimously passed in the Legislative Assembly.
•
Reservation on grazing land in municipal corporation and municipal council areas will be lifted.
•
Over 14,700 hectares of land (7700 in M Corp, 4000 in M Council, 3000 in Nagar Panchayat) will be freed.
•
Freed land will become government property, managed by the District Collector, and used for public interest, not commercial purposes.
•
The amendment aims to benefit municipal bodies, facilitate public works, and remove encroachments on these lands.
