Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi: Criteria to Change? Agriculture Minister Bharne's Big Update
•Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne announced efforts to change criteria for Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi and PM Kisan schemes.
•MLA Samadhan Avtade raised concerns about eligible farmers being deprived of benefits in both schemes.
•PM Kisan, a central scheme, provides Rs. 6,000 annually in three installments of Rs. 2,000 each.
•Current criteria make farmers who acquired land after February 1, 2019, ineligible, even if land was transferred.
•The 21st installment of PM Kisan (Rs. 1,814.74 crore to 90.74 lakh families) and 7th installment of Namo Shetkari (Rs. 1,022.28 crore to 4,95,090 beneficiaries in Solapur) were recently distributed.
