Gravita India to Invest ₹1,300 Crore, Double Capacity by FY29

• Gravita India plans a ₹1,300 crore capital expenditure to double its capacity from 3.3 lakh tonnes to 7 lakh tonnes by FY29.
• The company is expanding into copper recycling through the acquisition of Rashtriya Metal Industries Ltd (RMIL) for ₹565 crore, funded by internal accruals.
• CEO Yogesh Malhotra stated the acquisition is part of a long-term expansion plan and will not require new debt.
• RMIL currently operates at 50% capacity, offering significant scope for operational improvement and increased utilization to 65-70%.
• The acquisition is expected to boost RMIL's current mid-single-digit margins and achieve a 25% ROIC post-stabilization, with core lead business growing in high-teen range.
