Sensex Plunges 1,690 Pts, Nifty Below 22,850 Amid Widespread Sell-off

•Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended sharply lower, snapping a two-day gaining streak.
•Sensex plunged 1,690 points to 73,583, while Nifty tumbled 487 points to 22,820, both down over 2%.
•Selling pressure was widespread, with 26 out of 30 Sensex constituents in red and all sectoral indices lower.
•PSU banks, financials, and auto stocks led the decline; Tata Motors (PV) fell 5% on JLR production halt reports.
•India VIX surged nearly 9%, and the Indian rupee hit a record low of 94.84 against the US dollar.
