Supreme Court Upholds ₹144 Crore Payment: SpiceJet Plea Dismissed in Maran Dispute

Supreme Court dismissed SpiceJet's plea challenging Delhi High Court's order to deposit ₹144.51 crore in the Kalanithi Maran dispute.
•
The court imposed ₹1 lakh costs on Ajay Singh, citing endless litigation.
•
The dispute originated from a 2015 Share Sale and Purchase Agreement involving Kalanithi Maran, KAL Airways, and Ajay Singh.
•
SpiceJet has already paid ₹730 crore, including ₹580 crore principal and ₹150 crore interest, to Maran and KAL Airways.
•
SpiceJet stated the ruling has no impact on its operations and expressed confidence in a potential ₹449 crore refund.
