Swan Defence Bags India's Largest Chemical Tanker Order Worth ₹2,000 Crore

• Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited secured a ₹2,000 crore ($227 million) order from European shipowner Rederiet Stenersen for six IMO Type II chemical tankers.
• This marks India's largest single commercial shipbuilding order and the first and largest chemical tanker order for an Indian shipyard.
• The tankers, each 18,000 DWT, will be constructed at Swan's shipyard in Pipavav, Gujarat.
• The vessels will feature advanced dual-fuel LNG-ready hybrid propulsion and high levels of automation, designed by Marinform AS (Norway) and StoGda Ship Design & Engineering (Poland).
