•Pesticide expert Amit Singh identifies blight as a fungal disease affecting tomato, onion, and garlic, causing purple-brown spots and leaf drying.
•Untreated blight can lead to significant yield loss, affecting bulbs in onions/garlic and fruit formation in tomatoes.
•Recommended treatment: Spray Ridomil Gold (2g/liter water) and Ikka 20% SP (100g/acre) at first sign of disease.
•Spray in morning/evening, ensuring uniform coverage; cost is 1000-1500 rupees/acre, preventing much larger losses.
