Treta Yuga Mystery: Shatrughna's Bow-Arrow Idol in "Hanuman" Temple
•
The Mahaveer Hanuman Temple near Lav Kush Nagar houses an idol with a bow and arrow, not a mace, believed to be of Lord Shatrughna.
•
Its history dates back to the Treta Yuga, linked to Shri Ram's younger brother Shatrughna and his battle with the demon Lavanasure.
•
Sages sought Lord Ram's help against Lavanasure, who obstructed their penance near Maa Bambarbani hill (associated with Mother Sita).
•
Shatrughna was sent by Lord Ram, defeated Lavanasure, and an idol of him emerged from a rock, established by the sages.
•
Despite being Shatrughna's temple, it's widely known as Mahaveer Temple, leading many to mistakenly identify the idol as Hanuman Ji.
