AP Cabinet Approves 10 Lakh New PNG Connections, 24-Hour Pipe Laying Permissions

• AP Cabinet, led by CM Chandrababu Naidu, decided to encourage LPG users in cities like Guntur, Nellore, Kakinada, and Visakhapatnam to switch to Piped Natural Gas (PNG).
• Target set for 10 lakh new PNG connections, with permissions for pipelines granted within 24 hours or automatically.
• Deepam subsidy scheme will apply to PNG subscribers, with DBT amount of Rs. 2,400 transferred for three cylinders to those switching to piped gas.
• Cabinet also resolved to amend Section-5 of the AP Reorganization Act, 2014, to grant legal status to Amaravati as the capital.
• Other approvals include construction of SRM University buildings, establishment of 96 Civil Judge courts, and priority mineral leases for Waddera communities.
