Visakhapatnam Railway Zone: Full Operations by April 2026, 15,000 Jobs Expected

• South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, to be fully operational by April 1, 2026, as announced by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
• The project, with an estimated cost of over Rs. 183 crore, includes a 12-story headquarters building in Mudasarlova, Visakhapatnam, shaped like a cruise ship.
• The new zone will encompass Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, and Guntakal Divisions, along with parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
• Despite initial delays, construction is progressing rapidly, with a General Manager already appointed.
• The zone is projected to create over 15,000 job opportunities, boosting industrial development and commercial activities in Andhra Pradesh.
