- •South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, to be fully operational by April 1, 2026, as announced by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
- •The project, with an estimated cost of over Rs. 183 crore, includes a 12-story headquarters building in Mudasarlova, Visakhapatnam, shaped like a cruise ship.
- •The new zone will encompass Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, and Guntakal Divisions, along with parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
- •Despite initial delays, construction is progressing rapidly, with a General Manager already appointed.
- •The zone is projected to create over 15,000 job opportunities, boosting industrial development and commercial activities in Andhra Pradesh.
