Woman Arrested in Tirumala for Drugging, Stealing 73g Gold Mangalsutra

•Valli (56) arrested for stealing a 73-gram gold mangalsutra from a 72-year-old devotee in Tirumala.
•Accused befriended the victim near Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswamy Temple, then drugged her tea with sedative pills.
•Tirupati District Police, led by SP L. Subbarayudu IPS, used CCTV and technical evidence to identify and apprehend Valli on 02-03-2026.
•Police seized 8.4 grams of gold, 8 sleeping pills, and an iron cutter; Valli confessed and was charged under IPC 379 and 328.
•Authorities warn devotees not to accept food/drinks from strangers and to report suspicious activity by dialing 112.
