A herd of approximately 25 elephants from Jharkhand's Giridih district entered Jamui, causing panic in Ikeria and Arsar villages.

One person broke a leg while fleeing the elephant herd, which also trampled and destroyed ready wheat crops, causing significant losses to farmers.

Sadar SDO Saurav Kumar and DFO Tejas Jaiswal are coordinating efforts, deploying teams to monitor the elephants and guide them back to the forest.

The herd includes a baby elephant, slowing its movement due to intense heat, prompting the Forest Department to use fire torches for guidance.

Villagers have been advised caution, and officials with a magistrate are deployed in affected villages to ensure safety and continuous monitoring.
