Located in West Champaran district, it has gained international recognition alongside Nalanda.

In 2024-25, Valmiki Tiger Reserve attracted approximately 4.80 lakh visitors, a significant increase from 3.22 lakh in 2023-24.

Bihar's tourism saw a 24% increase in visitors over the past year, with Nalanda, Kaimur, and Valmiki leading.

The reserve spans 900 sq km, divided into 2 divisions and 8 ranges, offering jungle safaris and views of Nepal-bordering valleys.
